About the Pharmacy Program

The Pharmacy Program provides education and research in the fields of pharmacotherapy and practical medical pharmacy regarding medications and their use at medical sties, as well as research and educational institutions. Our aim is to train highly specialized professionals and independent researchers who can play a leading role in their respective fields.

Admission policy

Purpose

In our pharmacy program, we conduct education and research in the fields of pharmacotherapy and practical medical pharmacy. Our faculty play a leading role in society and have a great deal of expertise in pharmaceuticals and their use in medical institutions, universities, and other research institutions. Our aim is to train researchers with a sense of responsibility.

Admission policy

We welcome individuals who understand and empathize with the goals and objectives of the University, agree with the goals set by the Program. We offer several windows during which we accept applications in a fair and transparent manner.

Doctoral Program

We conduct advanced and specialized research in areas focusing on clinical issues such as personalized medicin, drug treatment, chemotherapy, treatment of infectious diseases, drug efficacy and toxicity evaluation, regularoty science, community pharmacy, and Kampo medicine. We welcome applicants who are eager to study and want to contribute to adcanced medical care and team medical care and wish to contribute to the development of medical care.

Application requirements
1.
By recommendation
  • Graduates of Mukogawa Women's University School of Pharmacy 6-year program, or those about to graduate
  • Those who are recognized by the Graduate School as having the academic ability equal to or higher than 1.

However, in this case please consult with the faculty member you wish to study under, to confirm that you can receive a recommendation.

2.
General selection
  • Graduates of a six-year course of Pharmacy studies, as defined in the School Education Act, Article 87, Section 6; or those about to graduate
  • Those having a Master's degree in Pharmacy, or those about to receive this degree
  • Those who have completed 18 years of school education in a foreign country, or are about to complete such education
    Those who have completed 18 years of schooling at an institution outside Japan via correspondence learning from within Japan, or are about to complete such education
  • Those who have completed a course of study within Japan at an educational institution recognized by a foreign country's education system as offering that country's university-level course of study (must be one whose graduates are considered to have completed 18 years of that country's school education), and specifically designated by the Minister of Education, or those about to complete such a course of study
  • Those designated by the Minister of Education. (Those to whom Education Ministry Announcement #39 of 1955 "Entry to Master's and Postgraduate Programs to Study Medicine by persons Having Academic Attainment recognized as Equivalent to a University Degree" applies.)
  • Those recognized by this Graduate School, after an individual entrance eligibility screening, as having a level of academic attainment equivalent to that of a university graduate, and who will be at least 24 years old by the end of the school year
  • *Those wishing to apply should please meet and consult with the Research Supervisor in their desired field before applying. Please inquire at the School of Pharmacy office for contact details.
  • **Those wishing to apply under ⑥ above will undergo an individual entrance eligibility screening. Please inquire beforehand at the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences office.

Special Selection for working People
Those who fulfill any one of the requirements for General Selection above, and also fulfill the following conditions:
In employment at a hospital, pharmacy, university, research center, or company at the time of application, and have received a recommendation from their supervisor.

Applicants who have graduated, or are expecting to graduate, from Mukogawa Women's University's 6-year pharmacy program, or who have been recognized by the graduate program as having the equivalent or higher academic ability. Admission will be determined from submitted documents and an interview.

Candidates who work at hospitals, pharmacies, universities, research institutes, or companies at the time of application and are recommended by a supervisor must meet the necessary qualifications specified by the graduate program must also provide a statement and undergo an interiew, which will determine successful admission to the program. In some cases, an English proficienty examination may also be required.
